So you sit and you cry and you complain about how crappy your life is and you expect some fairy godmother to come save you from your misery. You wonder why things don’t get better for you, why you can’t get to have what you have dreamt of and what you want from life. But you don’t actually do anything about it, do you?

Well, then, stop complaining and get your butt to work. If you want to succeed and make your dreams a reality, you need to take action; less words, more actions. Set your goals; find ways to work towards them. Life doesn’t come if you don’t invite it in.

No one will work for you if you are not willing to work for yourself. It may seem like you are floating in a vast ocean at first, but you need to start swimming if you want to reach the shore; start crying and you will eventually get tired and drown.

Aren’t you tired of your constant sadness and indecision? I once read that each of us gets the exact life they deserve and desire. At first I reacted, wondering why someone, who’s never hurt anyone in their life, would deserve to be miserable and sad and unfortunate.

But then comes another thought; okay, so you’ve been bitten and mistreated and life has been cruel to you. Don’t sit there licking your wounds scared and broken. If you want things to turn around, patch those wounds and turn things around yourself.

As long as you sit doing nothing, you deserve nothing. If you want to lose weight, hit the gym. If you want to graduate, control yourself and study, if you want to learn things, investigate. Whatever you want to do, you can do it if you put your mind to it.

Of course you have the right to break down and cry and scream and shout and complain, but at some point this has to stop; you know that very well. There’s only so much time you are allowed to act a certain way before it becomes a way of life.

If you want people to feel sorry for you and pity you, that’s fine. You can keep up with your boring melodrama about how unlucky you’ve been in your life and how everyone has thrown their stones at you. But if you want to be respected and strong, you will get up and start fighting to achieve your heart’s desires.

It doesn’t take much; it can be the words of someone you love that hurt you, it can be that you can no longer stand yourself or rather what’s left of who you used to be. It doesn’t really matter. It makes you realize that you need to turn the page and start over, fresh, again. You have to stop writing on the same page again and again; all you do is smudge the page, tear it and make it unreadable.

So, stand up and start over. Accept life for what it is; cycles. One ends and a new one has to begin. You have to suck it up and keep on living, just like everyone else. No one is interested in your problems or if you can’t buy that fancy car you love. You have to fight for it; you have to face your life.

Some people might come to help, but they will never fight your battles for you. That’s all on you. You lead the way because only you know where you want to go and who you want to be. You are the main character of your story and a main character never just sits around doing nothing expecting others to do everything for him.

Whether you will be the leading character of your life or if you will let others decide and act on your behalf that is entirely your choice. Just remember that whatever you choose is what you deserve to have. So, the question to yourself should be “what do you deserve?”
