Waking up next to you

I don’t know if anyone will ever believe me if I claim that the best thing in what we share is waking up next to you. And don’t get me wrong. Sex is great, maybe unique. And everything else we do is also fantastic. Waking up beside you though, is literally amazing!

I can’t imagine my life without you and most of all I can’t imagine waking up in the morning without having you on my side. Running my hand over your back, feeling your skin, smelling your hair; all like a dream come true.

And it lasts more than making love. It can last all morning on the weekends. I press my body close to you and you do  the same. I enjoy it, more than words can discribe, when you are not fully awake and you have that adorable expression like you don’t know exactly where you are or or what time it is.

Things can’t get any better and I feel so safe waking up in your arms, knowing that you have an hour or so every morning to get ready at ease.

‘Good morning babe‘. I say and you kiss me so softly, and I feel my body melt while you squeeze me in your arms and you laugh. Yes, our first kiss in the morning is more exciting than the best breakfast in the most exclusive hotel. You look at me so tenderly and I feel like I have the whole world at my feet. And although it is the same thing every morning I never get bored.

Because every day I discover a new small and unique detail  that I haven’t seen the previous times. I examine your ears and find out that they are so soft and sweet  and I touch your dimples and I feel some tiny wrinkles at the corner of your eyes while I kiss them before you have time to react because you say that kissing a lover’s eyes means goodbye.

I had been single for a long time and I have had my share of fun. I’ve been around and I have my experiences. I wasn’t sure that I will be able to find the right person to spend the rest of my life with. When I was younger I used to make fun with the romantic films the girls adored. I couldn’t understand how the central focus of some people’s life was love. But you changed everything!

Do I deserve this kind of happiness? I wonder. Life is so good to me to have the best person in the world beside me. I think I can handle everything waking up with you every morning. I can deal with my boss and some of the most annoying customers. I can deal with working long hours. I can deal with the long boring traffic jams when I commute in the evening. And all that because I know I will wake up the next morning and I the first thing I will see is you lovely face.

There really is nothing like waking up next to the person you love.
