Right now, looking at this amazing view, from the 36th floor, enjoying this spectacular image across the city, it makes me realize once again how blessed I am to have the opportunity to travel.

Some people believe that you are truly complete when you get married, have an amazing, big wedding with hundreds of guests, spending so much money on just one day. As for me, I feel complete every single time I start packing for an unknown destination and get my passport stamped.

Undoubtedly, we grow up surrounded by a hypothetical image, that we all learn from our families and society, that there’s only one way to live life. Travel is proving that the world is so much bigger than I am. Through traveling, I have learned to respect and appreciate what I have, what others have; and even what we don’t have. I have seen people living in a way of life completely different than my own. Travelling has allowed me to respect other people’s struggles as well as their way of celebrating their happiness; it has opened my eyes in a way nothing else has.

There are times when you feel like you’re going to explode, probably drowning in daily routine, heartbreak, even boredom. The solution to this is to book a ticket to somewhere far away from home, for even just a couple of days –it will make a difference. Traveling can make you a happier person by building self-confidence, providing new experiences, and incredible memories. Being away from things we often take for granted, like our family, our pets, our home and our friends make us appreciate them more. You know though, that when you’re going to explore the unknown and add more incredible experiences in your own book of life, the first ones to enjoy those travel stories will be your parents, who will probably be very proud of you for taking the risk and the challenge of traveling – because what’s life without a little risk? And this is one of the safer kinds.

Whenever you describe all the places you have fallen in love with, the spark in your eyes and your face will be quite obvious and will definitely make you look –and feel– happy and charming.

Travel to places where you can enjoy how the sun plays hide and seek with the skyscrapers and how everything is alive and bright, even very late at night. I feel happy and more alive than ever when I’m challenging my boundaries when I’m traveling to completely different worlds. Being in foreign lands, it forces you to step out of your comfort zone which definitely helps you to build great confidence.

When you travel, you don’t just learn about the world but you learn so many things about yourself too. Be the person who constantly lives out of your comfort zone. When you step out of that and go to that magic place, you will realize that you’re reaching that breathing space that is often lost in your routine.

Traveling is that thing that allows you to be yourself, to let go of the past, of the stressful moments of the everyday life and teaches you to start appreciating what you have, to love yourself more, to demand respect from others, to have confidence and be strong enough to walk away from places and people that hurt you and go somewhere you will let yourself be at peace.

Of course, there are people out there who find happiness in the laughter of a baby, of raising a child which I think is an amazing achievement and not everyone is capable of becoming a parent. Be the person who travels though, who wants to see the world. If you’re not that kind of person, simply be the person you want to be, and be it fully.

Even though everyone around you is getting married, engaged, having babies, and you’re just working your ass off in order to afford to travel around the world, you are definitely not a weirdo. Don’t stop doing what you want to do now.

It’s all about perspective anyway, it’s how you see life.
